Mode of Action:
Gentiana lutea (Gentian) its ability to increase digestive function, including production of stomach acid, has since been validated in modern times.
Turnaria aphrodisiaca (Damiana) Damiana has been hailed as an aphrodisiac since ancient times, particularly by the native peoples of Mexico. Other folk uses have included asthma, bronchitis, neurosis, and various sexual disorders.
Smilax ornata (Sarsaparilla) Sarsaparilla also has a tradition of use in various women's health concerns and was rumored to have a progesterone-like effect.
Eleutherococcus senticosis (Siberian ginseng) Traditional European medicine used for limbic stress showing as adrenergic sympathetic and adrenocortical excess; depression, anorexia, neurasthenia without organic cause. Useful for bronchitis, circulatory problems, diabetes, infertility, lack of energy; to ease withdrawal from cocaine, and to protect against the effects of radiation exposure.
Pausintalia yohimbe (Yohimbe) The alkaloid known as yohimbine is the primary active constituent in yohimbe, although similar alkaloids may also play a role. Yohimbine blocks alpha-2 adrenergic receptors, part of the sympathetic nervous system. It also dilates blood vessels. This has made the compound a useful substance for treating male sexual dysfunction. Yohimbine inhibits monoamine oxidase (MAO) and therefore may be of benefit in depressive disorders.
Sabal serrulata (Saw Palmetto) Saw Palmetto is clinically proven to treat prostate enlargement and its associated symptoms such as frequent urination, difficulty or saw palmetto to treat BPH may have far-reaching implications for treatment of certain female hormonal dysfunctions, especially polycystic ovaries. Do not use with stomach or duodenal ulcers as well as stomach irritability or inflammation. Contains Siberian Ginseng - Do not use with high blood pressure due to the increased production of adrenalin in the adrenal glands.
