Description

Ingredients

Each tablet contains Ulmus rubra (Slipper Elm) powder 500mg.

Indications

May assist in treatment of the mucosal lining of the digestive tract during: Indigestion, Diarrhea, Ulcers, Dehydration.
Supports treatment of skin lesions, acne and boils.

Mode of action

Demulcent: Contains mucialge with galactose, polyurinosides and other sugar complexes; soothes irritated mucous membranes; acts as a barrier.
Anti-inflammatory: flavonoids and sesquiterpenes soothe mucous membrane ulcers in the digestive tract and bowel.
Emmolient: softens and protects skin
Expectorant: relieves irritating cough
Diuretic: improves elimination through the kidneys
Nutritive: in weak convalescent persons
Astringent: contains tannins, which relieve weeping skin lesions, diarrhea and bleeding; tannins tighten and constrict tissue

Dosage

Take one to two tablets three times daily or as prescribed.

Note

Slippery elm has as much nutrition as is contained in oatmeal, and when made into gruel it forms a wholesome and sustaining food for infants and invalids.
